F-1 Process Steps

Frequently Asked Questions

Applicants must be working on or already possessing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. We do not require applicants to pass the NCLEX or IELTS before applying to our agency.

If you do not meet all the basic requirements, you may proceed with your application once they are met.

Please note that although we appreciate your previous experience, our clients require current experience in an acute care patient hospital.

We do not! Nurses may incur a few costs throughout the process (CES Report fee if educated in their home country), but we do not charge a processing fee. We also don't do any paycheck withholdings.

The sooner, the better! If you qualify to be in the F-1 program, you can sign the agreement as early as 2 years before you graduate. The earlier you join our team, the fewer delays you will see once you graduate. However, if you are close to graduating or your OPT is soon to expire, don’t let that stop you! Please complete the application, and we will jump right in!

Interstaff provides personalized support to help you navigate every step of the process, including:

  • Guaranteed employment opportunities designed to launch your nursing career in the U.S.
  • Ongoing check-ins and training from the clinical team to ensure you feel confident and well-prepared in the hospital setting, providing the support you need to thrive.
  • Connecting you with the Interstaff community to provide support and foster professional growth during your time with us and beyond.
  • Guiding you through the green card application process, including handling the filing and offering tailored support to help you secure permanent residency in the U.S.
  • Offering comprehensive relocation and career support to ease your adjustment to life and work in the U.S.
  • Offering a competitive salary and bonus structure.

Once you sign your contract, we’ll schedule a Next Steps Call to guide you through the process and create a personalized timeline for getting you to work. During this call, we’ll:

  • Discuss licensing and compliance requirements to ensure everything is in order.
  • Begin your placement process approximately 6–9 months before your start date.
  • Determine if you need support with NCLEX preparation and provide resources if necessary.
  • Connect you with other Interstaff nurses to help you build a sense of community and grow within our team.

We would love to hear from you! Interstaff can work with nurses pursuing various degree types. As long as you meet the qualifications as a nurse, we can help determine the next best steps to support your career goals.

Absolutely! We are happy to discuss your current visa situation to determine how Interstaff can assist you. Simply fill out the F-1 application, and our team will manually update your application based on your visa status to provide you with the best possible pathway forward.
